A very welcome swim

Today has been hot and dry. It was that sort of heat that you experience in Spain, Italy or Greece.

You can just feel the warmth rising off the baked ground.

Now as I write this during the late afternoon a lovely breeze has returned to the woods. We missed this air flow on our walks today as we tried to stick to the shade.

So it seemed the perfect opportunity to go swimming with the dogs. With so many of the streams and ponds having dried up, the lakes and rivers are your best chance for a little swim.

Gloriously refreshing and satisfying to jump out into the water with the dogs. No doubt they are even happier to find the water then we were.
