When philosophy and music meet harmoniously

One of the more random titles you’ll find on my blog. So I’ll explain…

Whilst enjoying my morning coffee at an early hour, I was prompted to peruse YouTube. I can’t say that I visit the website too often, but on this occasion something caught my eye.

In the watch again category was the speech by Alan Watts called “if money were no object”.

Those avid readers of this blog might well remember that this was one of the motivating speeches which originally pulled me towards dog walking and setting up the company.

It had been probably around 2 years since I last heard this speech and therefore I was happy to click the button.

Whisked away into the dulcet tones of Alan Watts, I jumped in the van and found a playlist of more of his speeches and his interpretation of eastern philosophy on Spotify.

(On a side note if you do not know Alan Watts or his teachings I can thoroughly recommend taking a listen.)

At some point during the playlist the backing music for the speech was funky jazz.

After getting my fix of Eastern teachings for the day, I remembered one of my favorite funky jazz / chill groups, Crazy P (their name used to be longer, but they abbreviated it to “fit in” more. If you know, you know!)

Well …. With the sun shining, happy dogs and some truly epic adventures we cruised to and from walks in a zen state of mind.

Whether learning, reflecting or enjoying, philosophy and the right music will elevate your mood, experiences and life.
