Faster Lighter Further

Now I am a huge fan of Winter. Deep snow means amazing fun in my world.

However the arrival of the warm weather and spring is certainly not unwelcome.

As the title of this blog post suggests there are some great advantages when the snow and ice melts and retreats from the woods.

With a long and great winter behind us we can now look back on some fantastic adventures. But the large quantities and depth of snow somewhat limited variation in where we could park up and start our walks.

The main car parks were kept in very good condition throughout the Winter. However where we sometimes cheekily park up on the side of the road there was over 1 m of snow to hinder easy access to those areas.

The warm weather has allowed us to ditch a few layers of clothing which always helps raise any tempo of adventure.

And on the most walks we have started walks without our trusty ice spikes. Without the risk of slipping you are able to cover a lot more ground.

All this to explain the simple notion that this week we are working faster, with less clothing and exploring further the into the woods again. These three advantages very much help for a positive transition away from Winter and towards Spring.
