Refreshing Rain is back again in Oslo.
Many of you will no doubt have peered out of the window today and seen the rain teeming down here in Oslo.
Whilst it may have looked grey, misty and wet out there, it was surprisingly refreshing and a gorgeous day to adventure without meeting many others out in the woods. As one of my customers put it to me “I can’t imagine anyone apart from Dogwalkers bothered to head up to the woods today”…… and right there, that is the magic of it.
By having no option but to head out, you quickly realise that the weather really doesn’t shape the adventure, it is but a small part. You can’t love nature without loving all types of weather. I didn’t become a dogwalker in Oslo to get a tan. California or Spain might have been a better choice if that was my aim.
I grew up in London…. so i am used to rain. Much like anyone from Bergen, I just reach for my jacket and get on with life without the slightest negativity towards the weather.
I won’t lie, some of your doggies need a little extra motivation on wet days to jump out of the warmth and comfort of the van, but give them a few minutes of play….. and the fact after 5 mins you will be as wet as after 1 hour and we are good to explore and have fun.
So reach for the rain coat, the waterproof trousers and your mountain boots or gummistøvler depending on the levels of snow and ice where you live…… get out the door and enjoy nature in it’s purest form. It will be refreshing
