Happy 4th birthday Minttu!
Many of you will know that Minttu is my gorgeous dogter. She is the first of my three children and she turns four already today.
It seems just like a few weeks ago that I took the 27 hour round trip (sleeping 3 hours in back of my pickup to get some rest) to Hidra in Southern Norway to pick her up as an 8-week old puppy.

And since then she has joined on the vast majority of my walks.
Minttu is half Norwegian, half English with her father originating from near Manchester.
The puppies in her litter were a varied assortment of colours and lengths of fur. But I couldn’t have asked for better than a short-haired tricolor border collie.
Minttu has a Finnish name. Named after the Mountain in Finland and the peppermint schnapps liquor you can get in duty free. She is fresh and lively!
Minttu is first and foremost a companion and family dog. But it would be a disservice to not mention her capabilities as a working dog.
She may not be herding sheep like her parents but she keeps my dogpacks close to me and makes my job a lot easier.
She is the life and soul of the party which means the others love to chase her and play.
She has always been around dogs of all breeds and sizes and her patience and lack of jealousy with regards to the attention I give to the others is remarkable.
We train actively together on a daily basis to sharpen up her responses and give her the mental stimulation she so desperately loves.
She absolutely loves the snow and therefore it seemed fitting that we got a new batch on her birthday for her to play in with her friends.
So please join me in wishing my wonderful eternal puppy a very happy birthday.
