Design your life to reflect what you would like to do on a daily basis.
Alan Watts, the zen philosopher, put this in the question “what would you do if money were no object?”.
It is certainly worth reflecting on in which direction we would like our lives to go.
These questions were very much at the forefront of my thinking when I set down in early 2013 to think what I wanted to do career-wise. I knew I wanted to start a business but I wasn’t quite sure what it would be.
So I considered the question in a different way… “If I won the lottery, after I got bored with the travels, the big house the fast cars, etc.. what would I do every day?”
Well… I would own a few dogs and I would really enjoy going on long walks in nature with them.
Hey presto, my dog walking business was born. It doesn’t need to be more complex than that. Literally I wrote a simple business plan on a napkin in a coffee shop downtown in Oslo.
I’m certainly not going to pretend that the last 10 years have only been straight line progression. But by continually reassessing what, how and why i do this, i fine-tune (and hopefully improve) our walks and what we offer both customers and dogs.
If you’re feeling inspired, then ask yourself what can I do today to start moving along the path of where and who you wish to be. Start to design your life that you want.
Now…… here are some photos of what we are passionate about.
