” Ice ice baby
All right stop
Collaborate and listen
Ice is back with a brand new invention… “
Not my words but the words of Vanilla Ice the rapper.
Mr Ice however makes a very valid point. When there is ice it is sometimes best to stop and take it slow.
Yesterday’s combo of sheet ice and fresh snow on top made for some incredibly slippery conditions both in town and up in the woods.
Unfortunately this led to one customer breaking her wrist and a different customer breaking her leg. We of course wish them a very speedy recovery as they have now graduated to the mobility impaired category of customer. (See benefits of dog walking from an owner’s perspective blog post for more info).
The good news for the rest of us is that the unseasonably warm weather conditions since the new snow came have meant the fresh layer has now bound to the underlying ice.
This in turn made it a lot easier to explore the steeper elements of the woods. And so spikes firmly attached we headed to the sloped woods to find some as yet unexplored paths.
Back to the aforementioned song and I have to give out a shout out to my former boss at BP “the Humph” who once rapped the entire song at a corporate karaoke event without once looking at the screen and never missing a beat or word. Credit where credit is due.
