Vinterferie is now upon us. Vinterferie or school half term holidays as we romantically call it in the UK started today.
But what does this mean for our dog walking?
Well, it would seem that a large proportion of Oslo residents have taken their offspring and headed for the mountains and their cabins.
This is left Oslo eerily but splendidly quiet.
With the sunshine beating down upon us and fresh snow overnight, the usual Monday rush hour traffic was nowhere to be seen.
It was a case of pick whichever parking spot you want outside each client’s residence, instead of searching for any available space to stop for a few minutes.
Up in the woods and it was even quieter. The fresh new snow made it clear that in many places no one had walked there before us.
The layer of light fresh white snow on top of hard ice made for exciting adventures.
It was back to chasing snowballs instead of sticks today. This seemed a pleasant change to the pups whilst they were exploring.
Sunglasses and thinner and lighter clothes were very welcome as we soaked up the Vitamin D.
More of the same forecast for tomorrow. Roll on Vinterferie in Oslomarka!
