The Frosted Forest. This is one of my favourite events of the Winter. The woods look spectacular and as you wander through them the snow comes down like frosted rain from the trees.
A good snowfall last Sunday, followed by a combination of temperatures hovering around freezing and the mist hanging in the air for numerous days. These events leave the woods frozen with icy snow up in the tree tops.
As the warmer wind blows through the frosted forest, the ice crystals rain down on us, making a wonderful noise.
It was in these glorious conditions that we went adventuring today. A stunning backdrop for dogs bouncing gleefully and playing. Quite idyllic.
But make the most of it as with these warmer temperatures, it will soon be gone. Forecast temperatures of up to +8C in Oslomarka this weekend and the icy snow in the trees will not stick around for long.
Underfoot the snow is starting to become a little sticky. But for the moment it does not seem to be hindering any of the dogs. They seem to be mainly focused on the fun and games available.
