Monday Moose alert. You would imagine that the amount that we are out and about in Oslomarka, we would see more moose.
But the honest reality is that they hear us coming a long time before we see them.
And so, there I was exploring Maridalen with my morning group. We were soaking up the beautiful snowy woods, meandering down towards Maridalsvannet. Suddenly 2 of the boys got very sniffy. They were darting around manically and very excited.
100 metres further on and we found where the Moose had been lying down. Brown smudges on the snow, combined with melted snow, tracks and droppings left us all in no doubt.
We continued down towards the lake and i saw the tracks heading out across the ice. I leashed the boys as we were going to head the other way and we crossed to the headland.
As we walked up to the headland, up in the misty distance, there she was. Her ears pricked up, she was looking at us for 5 seconds. And as i tried to get my phone camera onto zoom….. Poof! She was gone.
Always impressive to see the wonderful beasts out roaming and it added to the sense of Monday adventure!
Otherwise, wow, what a start to the walking week. With new snow yesterday it was absolutely stunning walks today.
