It’s 9:05 this morning and after an early start I am already deep in Maridalen at a car park.
It is still about -10 Celsius and yet I am taking off one of my two pairs of socks keeping my feet toasty warm. Why?
The car park looks like a skate rink but I am swapping the safety of my spiked shoes for what can only essentially be termed as slippers. Why?
I skate my way to the back of the van to find the two dogs and the reason for this madness.
After the dogs jump out I reach in and pick out my cross country skis and we are ready to go.
With two of my usual dogs away from my morning walk I certainly saw the glass as half-full and not half empty. It was time to carpe diem.
And good gosh did we have fun. Some very happy Langrenns hunder.
This afternoon I swapped the skis for the ice crampons and mountain boots, allowing me to conquer mount Grefsenkollen with a gang of crazy energetic doggies. Bounding up and down the hills shin deep in snow in the sunshine.
There are some pretty tired dogs out there this evening.
Check out the videos below with the walk photos.
