What a day! I will sleep well tonight. Leg burn is well and truly underway after some fantastic deep snow adventures with the dogs today.
I am supposed to be going downhill skiing later this evening with my mates. I’ve already dropped them a message to let them know I’m going to have to take a double espresso upon getting home and see if it gives me a second wind. I’m pretty shattered, and so should be your dogs….. whatever the leg burn equivalent is for dogs….. a good sleep maybe?
Knee deep snow in places, and we were scrambling up and jumping down steep slopes. This made for some pretty exciting exploring or even mountaineering walks for us and the dogs.
The cooler temperatures allowed us to keep a slightly higher tempo without needing to worry about overheating from just a thick jumper.
The dogs were absolutely in their element as they ploughed through the snow, smiling and playing. Chasing snowballs down snow-filled slopes and then working hard to clamber back up to start all over again.
These types of conditions and walks are exactly what my dreams are made of. Well I say “Long may it last”.
