Heisann og we are back!
We hope you are all well and you are having a wonderful Monday in the sunshine!
IMPORTANT (read below)
After having been closed for all walks since Friday 6th September, it was fantastic to get back out there with your doggies today.
After daily contact with Mattilsynet and the Veterinary Institute here in Norway since the illness was first reported, we received last Friday (13th September) written confirmation that the extensive precautions we had suggested to them for our walks, would ensure no added risks to any of our doggies in comparison to being walked alone by either owners or anyone else. It has widely been reported that Mattilsynet have not been able to find any link to this illness being contagious in dog to dog contact…… and several cases where 2 dogs who live together, where one got ill and the other showed no symptoms whatsoever.
There has unfortunately been a fair amount of misinformation and bad reporting on the dog illness, especially in the mass media / newspapers. We would encourage people to focus on the official advice from Mattilsynet and the Veterinary Institute going forward and we have ongoing dialogue with them with each new update they post.
All of our owners should have received an email from Matt on Saturday outlining the precautions and steps we will be taking over the coming weeks on our walks. If anyone didn’t receive the email, please let me know and i will forward it, of course.
We would like to add that we have not had any reports of any of our dogs showing any of the symptoms which are related to the illness.
In fact all your doggies were in good form today and as you can imagine they were very VERY happy to meet up with their friends again on the walks, even if everyone has to be on leash for the moment.
The health and safety of your dogs is the most important thing to us. We would not have started up with walks again if I felt that there was any risk to their well-being. Many of you will already know that when possible my own dog / puppy (Minttu) joins me on my walks….. and today was no exception.
right….. back to today….. sun was out in force and we couldn’t have wished for a better autumn day. Fresh, crisp air early this morning, before needing to shed the layers down to a t-shirt as I explored some great trails in Oslomarka with the doggies.

We wish you all a fantastic rest of this Monday evening. Sun is forecast for the next few days as we plan some great adventures and fun to be had out there in the woods and marka.
