Torsdag 20 oktober turer

Hello and welcome to today’s Dog blogg.

Normally here on the blog we share  with you all the fun from the day alongside pictures of what the dogs have been up to. Today we have to make an exception to bring unhappy news about a special dog. Late last night we received the extremely sad news that Oscar had passed away. Oscar had been on our walks for 2,5 years and was a favourite dog of all those who had walked him during that time.

Oscar had been ill for a little while but always found the extra energy to join us on our walks. Last week on his last walk with us he was still running around, sniffing under bushes and enjoying the company of the other dogs and us.

He will be sorely missed by all of us and we pass on our most sincere condolences to his family, especially Venke.  He was a true character and good friend.

“I remember one day a couple of years ago when Sandra rang me to tell me that Oscar had run off during a walk (this was very out of character for him). I drove over to Sørkedalen and joined in the search with the dogs from my own walk in tow. We searched for over 2 hours asking everyone and anyone if they had seen him… eventually someone said “oh, i saw a dog just like that in the gift shop at Bogstad gård!”.  Five minutes later and we were reunited with Oscar who was happy as can be having a lie down in the back of the gift shop.”  – Matt
“Oscar often found ways to make me smile. Whether that was by randomly finding a burst of energy to join in with the other dogs chasing sticks or the way he would insist on resting his head on my arm while I was driving. Only last week he came out of a bush he was exploring covered in seeds. He came to me for help removing these seeds with a confused expression which I could only do while laughing. He was always very friendly, loving and cuddly. I’m grateful for the walks I have had with him in the last year and a half and will miss him a lot.”  – Nick
Below is a link to a short video we have made with pictures of Oscar and the happy times we have shared on walks.
